Cruise Tourism
for a Better Future

At Cagliari, we are committed to strengthening communities, promoting sustainable tourism, and fostering responsible growth. Our goal is to create a destination where both visitors and locals thrive, supported by economic empowerment, cultural initiatives, and environmental stewardship.

Through partnerships with local businesses, education programs, and heritage preservation efforts, we ensure that the benefits of cruise tourism extend beyond today, leaving a positive legacy for generations to come.

We believe in the power of collaboration and ethical business practices to drive meaningful change. Together with our partners, we are shaping a future where cruise tourism enriches lives, supports communities, and protects our environment.

International Coastal Cleanup Day

Cagliari Cruise Port took part in Global Ports Holding’s (GPH) worldwide initiative for International Coastal Cleanup Day. Under the banner “From Every Port, For Every Coast,” participants came together at Poetto beach to contribute to cleaner coasts and emphasize the importance of protecting our marine ecosystem.

Nurturing Future Talent: School-to-work program at Cagliari Cruise Port

Cagliari Cruise Port actively supports the local community by welcoming high school students for School-to-work experiences at its cruise terminal. This initiative offers young people the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the cruise tourism sector, develop professional skills, and understand the dynamics of port operations.

Guided by experienced staff, students participate in daily activities, from passenger assistance to operational support, fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

This project not only prepares the next generation for future careers but also strengthens the bond between the port and the local community, showing how the cruise industry can contribute to education, training, and sustainable social development.

Sustainable Tourism with a Heart

Cagliari Cruise Port proudly joined the solidarity initiative promoted by the Costa Foundation and Banco Alimentare, involving five Italian ports – Cagliari, Taranto, Savona, Genoa, and Civitavecchia – as well as others abroad.

With the support of the Port Authority, Costa’s Director of Public Affairs Eric Gerritsen, the volunteer association L’Aquilone, Monsignor Carlo Follesa, the Daughters of Charity, Medov, and the Harbour Master’s Office, we came together to provide tangible help to those in need.

A concrete example of sustainable tourism, capable of generating not only economic value but also human and social impact, giving back to the territory part of the wealth it helps to create.
Because doing good feels good – and together, we can build something beautiful for the community.
