The Mein Schiff Flow Makes Its Debut in Cagliari: First Port of Call for TUI Cruises’ New Flagship
Cagliari Cruise Port welcomes the Mein Schiff Flow for the first time, the new cruise ship in the TUI Cruises fleet and the second vessel in the modern InTUItion class, delivered in June 2026. This port of call marks the ship’s debut on the Sardinian capital’s cruise calendar, confirming Cagliari’s growing central role in Western Mediterranean itineraries.
On the occasion of the ship’s first call, the traditional maiden call ceremony was held, during which the customary exchange of commemorative crests took place between Captain Jan Gustaf Rautwaara and Cagliari Cruise Port, symbolizing the ship’s official inclusion among the port of Cagliari’s port calls. The ceremony was attended by local authorities, the port agent, the mooring crew, and representatives of the City of Cagliari and the Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea, underscoring the collaboration between institutions and port operators in welcoming international cruise lines.
With a capacity of approximately 4,000 passengers, the Mein Schiff Flow represents one of the industry’s latest innovations, designed with dual-fuel technology—including liquefied natural gas (LNG)—to reduce its environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.
During the call, cruise passengers had the opportunity to visit Cagliari’s historic centre, the Castello district, Poetto Beach, and the region’s main attractions, contributing to the economic benefits associated with cruise tourism.
The first port call of the Mein Schiff Flow marks a significant moment for the city’s cruise season and underscores the appeal of the Port of Cagliari to international cruise lines, which are increasingly interested in including Sardinia in their prestigious itineraries.
