The Candelieri of Iglesias is a traditional religious procession held in the town of Iglesias, Sardinia, inspired by the more famous Faradda dei Candelieri of Sassari. Large, decorated wooden structures called candelieri (candlesticks), carried on the shoulders by devoted participants, are paraded through the streets in honor of the Virgin Mary. The event combines devotion, tradition, and community spirit, and features music, folk costumes, and a solemn yet festive atmosphere. It is a deeply rooted expression of faith and cultural identity in southern Sardinia.
