Cagliari Cruise Port recently hosted an unforgettable Fam Trip for our distinguished guests from Azamara, Explora Journeys, Marella Cruises, and Ponant. Over the course of three days, we had the pleasure of showcasing the beauty, culture, and history of Cagliari and Sardinia, offering our guests a unique opportunity to experience the best the region has to offer.
Day 1: The journey began with a visit to the stunning Nuraghe Antigori wine cellars, where our guests had the chance to taste some of the finest local wines while learning about Sardinia's rich winemaking traditions. From there, we headed to the archaeological site of Nora, one of the most significant ancient settlements on the island. The site, which dates back to Phoenician times, captivated our guests with its well-preserved ruins, stunning coastal views, and historical significance.
Day 2: The second day of the Fam Trip saw our guests immersing themselves in the heart of Cagliari. They explored the city's vibrant streets, marveling at its mix of historical architecture and modern charm. A visit to the Cagliari Cruise Terminal gave them a closer look at the port facilities, which play a key role in the city's growing cruise tourism industry. The day also included a visit to the fascinating FAI - Saline Conti Vecchi, a former saltworks site that has been transformed into a cultural and environmental hub.
The day continued with a fun and engaging cooking class at Palazzo Doglio, where our guests learned to prepare traditional Sardinian dishes under the guidance of local chefs. To cap off the day, we made a stop at the beautiful Poetto Beach, where our guests could relax and enjoy the stunning coastal scenery.
Day 3: The final day of the Fam Trip took us to Barumini, where we visited the UNESCO World Heritage site of Su Nuraxi. This ancient nuragic settlement is one of the most important archaeological sites in Sardinia, and our guests were amazed by its historical significance. The visit was complemented by a tour of the Casa Zapata Museum, which provided further insight into Sardinia's rich cultural heritage.
